Minerva girls golf stays unbeaten with two more victories

The Minerva girls golf team continued its strong start to the season, picking up two more wins to remain undefeated.

Aug. 13 at Marlington 

Minerva improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference with a 185–204 victory over Marlington.

Sophomore Peyton Beaumariage led the Lions with a match-low round of 42. Junior Delaney Sell followed with a 45, while freshman Emery Sell and senior Mady Bartley each carded 49s. Freshman Savanna Bartley added a 52, and senior Hannah Kirkpatrick shot 56.

The win marked another consistent performance for Minerva, which had posted five straight victories to open the season.

Aug. 14 vs. Beaver Local and Alliance 

The Lions stayed unbeaten and set a new school record with a 165–200–213 victory over Beaver Local and Alliance. The score topped the program-best mark of 173 set last season.

Beaumariage again led the way with a 37. Delaney Sell followed with a 39, and Emery Sell carded a 42. Mady Bartley added a 47, Savanna Bartley shot 51, and Kirkpatrick finished with a 52.

For Beaver Local, Mya Anderson shot a team-best 44, followed by McKenzie Ash with a 47, Brenna Jones 52, Julianna Johnston 57, and Emilie Druschel and Georgie Long each with 61s.

Alliance was led by Kendyl Brown with a 41. Grace McGeehen shot 52, Kara Eversdyke 59, Azalea Pryor 61, Nellie Lanzer 64, and Ashlynn Pennington 70.

With the win, Minerva moved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the EBC. The Lions were scheduled for a key road match Aug. 15 at 1:30 p.m. at Carroll Meadows.
