Johnny Tilleson, along with Johnny and the Hurricanes, were the featured entertainers at the 1965 Carroll County Fair.
Mrs. Velma Griffin of Dellroy was named the County Chairman of the Year for the Martha Kinney Cooper Ohioana Library.
The Carrollton Warriors chalked up their second consecutive football shutout by defeating visiting Toronto High 20-0 at the fairgrounds, where warm weather brought out a crowd of 2,359 paid spectators. All of the Warriors’ scoring was in the first half on touchdowns by Larry Karns and Mike Coffy.
The Sherrodsville Boy Scout Troop 146 was chartered, along with the American Legion Post 660.

Howard Wood and his son, Robert (Bob), were featured in a front-page story upon being recognized by the Ohio Dairy Herd Improvement Association for having one of the top dairy farms in the state.
William A. Henry of the Sherrodsville American Legion Post was installed as council commander of the Carroll County Council of the American Legion.
Carrollton upped their status in the area cross-country ranks by first defeating Lakeland in a four-team run at Carrollton and then capturing second place at the Dover Invitational.

An appearance by “Jimmy Durante” (alias Carroll County Auditor Mac Guess) topped off the 22nd annual Carroll Tones show.
Receiving Letters of Commendation in the National Scholarship Program were three Carrollton High School seniors. They included Amy Patterson, Cynthia Wiandt and Bryan Wilking.
Vying for Carrollton High School’s fall sports homecoming queen were Jill Bernard, Jennifer Bolanz, Jill Lewton, Missy Moore and Debbie Stewart.
The Minerva Lions roared to a 10-zip win over Tuslaw.

Richard Cox of Alamo Road, Carrollton, admitted he has a “stinging” hobby when he was featured in a “Keeping the Bees” story in the Sept. 21, 1995, issue of The FPS.
Mike Conley and Ashley Farnsworth were among the fifth-graders at Dellroy School who were participating in an interactive science series produced by WGTE Public Broadcasting of Toledo.
Carrollton Warrior Brian Cogan paced Carrollton in all four golf matches.

Rev. Wally Anderson, pastor of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Malvern, was on a two-week preaching trip in South Africa.
Star Awards were presented to the following at the Carroll County Farm Bureau’s annual meeting held at the Great Trail Tee House in Minerva: Mike Schmuck, Vicki Caldwell, Anna Oyer, Amanda VanMeter, Todd Davis, Henry Moore, Doyle Hawk, Tom Lloyd, Bob Korns and John Neider.
Carrollton fans got their first look at the all-weather track at Community Field Stadium.
Carrollton junior Drew Kolbus scored three goals to lead the boys soccer team to a 7-4 victory over visiting Northeastern Buckeye Conference rival Canton South.

Carroll County commissioners received an update on the 711-mile-long Rover Pipeline project running from West Virginia through portions of Harrison and Carroll counties, continuing through Stark County and northward through Michigan and eventually into Canada, distributing 68 percent of the product it handles to markets across the United States.
Jennifer Dworznik was appointed secretary-treasurer of the Carroll County Airport Authority Board, succeeding Martha Racheta, who resigned.
The Carrollton Lady Warriors defeated the Sandy Valley Cardinals 7-1. Leading the way for the Warriors were Micah Donley with five goals and Riley Knotts with 2 goals.
