Carrollton Schools Alumni Foundation awards $8,770 in classroom grants

Funds support 23 teacher projects across K–12, continuing the foundation’s mission to enhance learning and student opportunities

Carrollton Schools Superintendent David Davis accepts a check for $8,770.98 from Marcy Borland, treasurer of the Carrollton Schools Alumni Foundation, for classroom grants.

The Carrollton Schools Alumni Foundation recently presented a check for $8,770.98 to Superintendent David Davis to fund classroom grants requested by 23 K-12 teachers this year.

Thanks to donations in 2025 and CSAF memberships, every teacher received at least partial funding, according to Susan Cogan, foundation president. The grants help teachers support special learning projects that enhance classroom instruction.

The Carrollton Schools Alumni Foundation Inc. operates exclusively for educational purposes, using all funds for curriculum enhancement, special projects, programs and other needs that benefit students in the Carrollton Exempted Village School District.

“We continue to help fund sixth-grade students attending Nature’s Classroom, provide assistance for middle school trips to Washington, D.C., and Gettysburg, contribute to the CARES program, and help purchase T-shirts for new students,” Cogan said.

She added that each May the foundation honors outstanding graduates at the Carrollton High School Alumni Hall of Fame ceremony. Nominations for the 2025 Hall of Fame are due by Nov. 30 and can be submitted online or through any foundation member.

“All this is made possible through memberships, donations and endowments from people who believe in making a difference in students’ lives,” Cogan said.
