Colorful costumes will once again fill Carroll County streets this Halloween as area towns host trick-or-treat events Oct. 30-31.

Carroll County communities have released their official 2025 trick-or-treat times, giving families several options to enjoy Halloween festivities across the county.

Carrollton will hold trick-or-treat Friday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m.

Dellroy youngsters can head out the same night, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Leesville will also celebrate Friday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m., while Sherrodsville’s event runs 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Malvern will get a head start on the fun with its trick-or-treat night set for Thursday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Magnolia will also celebrate Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6-7 p.m., followed by a bonfire and costume contest in downtown Magnolia Village Park.

Minerva’s celebration begins earlier that same evening, Thursday, Oct. 30, with trick-or-treat from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a parade at 6:45 p.m. and a community party from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the community building.

The magic of trick-or-treating stretches back through centuries of folklore and festivity. Long before superheroes and princesses filled the streets, children in old Europe roamed from door to door dressed as ghosts and goblins, offering songs or prayers in hopes of receiving small treats. When the tradition crossed the Atlantic, it blossomed into the Halloween night celebrated today — a playful mix of costumes, candy and community spirit.

From the glow of jack-o’-lanterns on porches to the laughter echoing down neighborhood streets, trick-or-treating remains a night when imagination takes center stage and every knock on a door promises a little taste of sweetness and nostalgia.
