New cases filed 

Capital One of Dublin has filed a complaint against Marsha R. Jones, 2274 Pine St. NW, Carrollton, seeking judgment for $7,333.79 due on an account. 

New American Funding LLC of Austin, Texas, has filed a complaint for money, foreclosure and other equitable relief against Brian Dean Miller of 8570 Memorial Rd. NE, Kensington, et al, seeking judgment for $72,961.81 due on a note for $88,440 executed June 1, 2018. 

Lakeview Loan Servicing LLC of Virginia Beach, Virginia, has filed a complaint in foreclosure against John D. Saffell Jr. and Tessa L. Saffell of 6111 Alamo Rd. SE, Scio, et al, seeking judgment for $75,476.95 due on a promissory note for $107,113 executed March 11, 2011. 

Judgments granted 

Capital One of Columbus has been granted judgment for $16,229.74 in another civil action filed Jan. 6, 2025, against Megan Kinsey of 6186 Aurora Rd. NE, Kensington. 

Twin City Rentals LLC of South Fulton, Tennessee, has been granted a default judgment for $6,971.49 in another civil action filed July 10, 2025, against Dale Cordia of 259 Poker Rd., Scio. 

Criminal cases 

A post-condition no-contact order has been issued against Heather R. Hodkinson, 39, formerly of 4462 John Town Rd., Dover, who was denied a judicial release regarding a 12-month prison sentence imposed Aug. 2, 2024, on conviction of theft from a person in a protected class and three counts of theft. 

The indictment returned Nov. 1, 2023, against Rickey A. Bake, 71, of 250 Cadiz Rd., Wintersville, charging him with two counts of violating a protection order has been dismissed on a motion of the prosecuting attorney on grounds the defendant’s current medical issues make his ability to attend and participate in any current proceedings impossible. 

A capias has been issued for the arrest of Angelo A. Mohn, 39, of 2645 Fox Ave., Minerva, for a violation of a three-year probation imposed Sept. 27, 2024, on conviction of two counts of aggravated possession of drugs. 

Allison C. Pool, 39, of 1308 Oregon Ave., Steubenville, has withdrawn a former not guilty plea to a June 4, 2025, indictment charging her with theft from a person in a protected class (fifth-degree felony) and two counts of assault (both first-degree misdemeanors) and entered guilty pleas to the original charges. Pool was sentenced to a three-year community control program on 19 conditions, including a four- to six-month incarceration in the Carroll County jail. However, in lieu of the jail sentence, Pool was remanded to the custody of the Eastern Ohio Correction Center, Women’s Division, for a four- to six-month confinement or until successful completion of the program at that facility. 

Substantial evidence has been found that Sally A. Lewis, 60, of 1100 Western Ave., Canton, has violated a five-year reporting probation imposed June 19, 2012, on conviction of three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of theft and one count of possession of heroin; original sentence of a concurrent six-month incarceration in the Ohio Reformatory for Women at Marysville imposed. 

Foreclosure dismissed 

The foreclosure action filed July 31, 2025, by Huntington National Bank of Columbus vs. Michelle and Shane L. Garkie of 6056 Steubenville Rd. SE, Amsterdam, et al., has been dismissed on a motion of the plaintiff. 

Protection order issued 

A protection order has been issued until Sept. 16, 2030, against Aaron D. Stansberry of 113 W. 5th St., Mansfield, involving a domestic violence/stalking petition filed Sept. 2, 2025, by Eric J. McEvoy, anonymous address. 

Workers compensation case dismissed 

The workers compensation case filed July 25, 2024, by Donald L. Bishop of 1507 41st St. NW, Canton, vs. Colfor Manufacturing Inc. of 461 David Dean Dr., Minerva, has been dismissed on a notice of the plaintiff. 

Jury trial scheduled for workers compensation case 

A jury trial has been set for Dec. 17 and 18 in the workers compensation case filed July 15, 2024, by Kimberly A. Maurice of 41 E. Main St., Apt. A, Carrollton, vs. Carrollton Management LLC of 160 W. Main St., Carrollton, et al.
