New cases filed
Seven Seventeen Credit Union Inc. of Warren has filed a complaint on a note and account against Randall J. Abel of Box 565, Carrollton, seeking separate judgments of $13,712.41 and $3,724.39 due on a loan and security agreement for $14,538.14 executed May 26, 2023, and a Visa credit card account of $3,724.39.
Craig W. Strasser Revocable Trust and Abel’s Offering of 4519 Baker St. SE, East Canton, have filed a complaint against Encina Energy LLC, EAP Ohio LLC and EAP Operating LLC, all of Houston, Texas, seeking an accounting of royalty payments to plaintiffs, plus compensatory damages exceeding $25,000, equitable relief and a declaratory judgment declaring the lease agreements do not permit the lessee to deduct “post-production” expenses from ongoing royalty payments to the plaintiffs.
PNC Bank National Association of Miamisburg has filed a complaint for foreclosure against Timothy A. Patterson of 9671 Lowmiller Road, Minerva, et al, seeking judgment for $41,577.70 due on a note for $61,200 executed July 26, 2013.
Carroll County Treasurer Jeff Yeager of Box 327, Carrollton, has filed a complaint and foreclosure against Robert T. and Dorothy R. Hefling of 266 Bender St. NE, Lot 21, Navarre, seeking judgment for $6,891.09 due on the estate of Stanley Ray Hall involving manufactured home tax due.
Case terminated
The foreign certificate judgment filed Feb. 3, 2025, in the case of Eagle Loan Co. of Ohio at Cincinnati vs. Lavonne M. Embrogno of 838 Cherry St., Malvern, has been ordered terminated due to the filing of a bankruptcy petition.
Criminal cases
The 5-year reporting probation imposed June 19, 2012, has been revoked in the case of Sally A. Lewis, 60, of 1100 Western Ave., Canton, who violated a 5-year reporting probation imposed June 19, 2012, on conviction of three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of theft and one count of possession of heroin. The original sentence of March 1, 2012, was imposed to include a concurrent 6-month prison term with credit for 43 days of local jail time.
Brent E. Brown, 38, of 8777 Sequoia Ave., Waynesburg, has withdrawn a former not guilty plea to an Aug. 6, 2025, indictment charging him with having weapons while under disability (third-degree felony) and possession of cocaine (fifth-degree felony) and entered a guilty plea to Count 1 only. Brown was sentenced to a 9-month prison term, plus court costs, with credit for 45 days of local jail time.
The $25,000 recognizance bond set Jan. 26 has been modified to a $100,000 cash/surety bond in the case of Tiffany M. Quillan, 32, of 426 E. State St., Newcomerstown, who was indicted June 4 for theft from a person in a protected class; case was continued to Sept. 18 for a pretrial.
A no-contact order has been issued against Allison Cera Pool, 39, of 1308 Oregon Ave., Steubenville, involving a June 4, 2025, indictment charging Pool with theft from a person in a protected class and two counts of assault.
A capias has been issued for the arrest of Ann L. McHenry, 36, of 3130 Jasmine Road NW, Carrollton, for a violation of a two-year intervention program imposed Feb. 7, 2025, on conviction of aggravated possession of drugs.
The $50,000 recognizance bond set June 26, 2025, has been revoked in the case of James L. Russell, 42, of 3243 Roswell Road SW, Carrollton, on a motion of the prosecuting attorney on grounds the defendant was charged in Carroll County Municipal Court with multiple new felony charges in violation of his pretrial release. A bench warrant has been issued for Russell’s arrest. The case involves a June 4, 2025, indictment charging him with strangulation and assault.
A judicial release from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction has been ordered to the custody of the Carroll County Sheriff on a defendant’s motion filed Aug. 14 involving two criminal cases against Heather R. Hodkinson, 39, formerly of 700 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia. The separate cases involve a 12-month prison sentence imposed Aug. 2, 2024, when Hodkinson was convicted of identity fraud and misuse of a credit card, and a 12-month prison sentence imposed the same date on conviction of one count of theft from a person in a protected class and three counts of theft.
Bond has been set at $100,000 cash or surety in the case of Nicole B. Kinsley, 54, of 209 W. 3rd St., Apt. A, Niles, regarding the defendant’s termination from Riverhaven Inpatient Treatment Facility; matter was set for pretrial Sept. 11.
The $25,000 recognizance bond set May 22 has been revoked and a bench warrant issued for the arrest of Michelle R. Williams, 53, of 341 W. Lisbon St., Waynesburg, on a motion of the prosecuting attorney on grounds the defendant failed to appear for an Aug. 28 pretrial hearing regarding a May 7, 2025, indictment charging her with possession of cocaine.
Emmalee A. Markins, 26, of 240 Spring Road, Minerva, has withdrawn a former not guilty plea to a June 4 indictment charging her with possession of cocaine (fifth-degree felony), aggravated possession of drugs (fifth-degree felony) and drug paraphernalia offenses (fourth-degree misdemeanor) and entered a guilty plea to Count 1 only. Markins was sentenced to a three-year community control program on 17 conditions, including a six-month confinement to the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center, Women’s Division.
Steve Allen Smith, 62, of 39120 Dutch Ridge Road, Jewett, has withdrawn a former not guilty plea to a May 7 indictment charging him with two counts of felonious assault (second-degree felonies) and entered a guilty plea to an amended indictment charging him with aggravated assault (fourth-degree felony). Smith was sentenced to a three-year community control program on 18 conditions, including 30 days in the Carroll County Jail with credit for six days of jail time.
Probable cause has been found that Sally A. Lewis, 60, of 1100 Western Ave., Canton, has violated a five-year reporting probation imposed June 19, 2012, on conviction of three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of theft and one count of possession of heroin; defendant found ineligible for bond and case continued to Nov. 11 for a merits hearing.
Foreclosure dismissed
The foreclosure action filed July 28, 2025, by JP Morgan Chase Bank National Association of Westerville vs. John W. Hawkins of 6994 Alliance Road, Malvern, et al, has been voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff.
Divorce granted
A divorce has been granted to each party due to incompatibility in the divorce action filed Sept. 26, 2024, by Cody W. Farnsworth of 16 N. Ohio St., Dellroy, vs. Lindsay R. Farnsworth of 208 N. Liberty St., Minerva.
Civil action set for trial
The other civil action filed July 14, 2021, by EAP Ohio LLC of Houston, Texas, vs. Sunnydale Farms LLC, c/o Robert L. Stewart, statutory agent, of 88740 Fairview Road, Jewett, et al., has been continued for a three-day jury trial set for Dec. 8-10.
