New cases filed 

Christine R. Grim, anonymous address, has filed a petition for a civil stalking protection order against Ross D. Gilham, c/o Noble Correctional Institution at Caldwell. A full hearing on the petition is set for Nov. 7. 

Joseph Asset Management Co. LLC of 7100 Whipple Ave., Suite J, Canton, has filed a complaint for declaratory judgment relief and damages against Lake Mohawk Property Owners Association (LMPOA) Inc. of 16 E. Mohawk Dr., Malvern. The plaintiff seeks relief from assessed fees and fines, as well as an injunction to reactivate Mr. Joseph’s son’s RFID (radio frequency identification) sticker. The plaintiff also seeks damages to be determined at trial and punitive damages regarding a residential property at 13 Delaware Trail, Malvern, within the LMPOA boundaries, where his son resides. 

Stephanie Jones, anonymous address, has filed a petition for a domestic violence civil protection order against James F. Burkhart of 253 4th St. SE, Carrollton. A temporary protection order has been issued until Nov. 4, with a full hearing set for Nov. 21. 

Gateway Royalty LLC of Amarillo, Texas, has filed a complaint for breach of contract and declaratory judgment against EAP Ohio LLC of Columbus, seeking recovery of full royalties and compensatory damages from EAP, as determined by the jury. The case involves an oil and gas lease agreement dated May 4, 1972. 

Protection orders issued 

A protection order has been issued until Oct. 6, 2030, against Anthony T. Fernwatt of 4928 Yukin St., Canton, following a petition for a domestic violence/civil stalking order filed by Theresa M. Hall, anonymous address. 

Criminal cases 

The case of William L. Woolf, 42, of 1012 E. Summit St., Alliance, who was indicted July 9, 2024, on a charge of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, has been continued for a one-day jury trial set to commence Jan. 20, 2026. 

Kelly R. Robb, 38, of 2732 Tremont St., Dover, has entered a not guilty plea to an Oct. 1 indictment charging her with aggravated possession of drugs and possessing drug abuse instruments. She has been released on a $25,000 recognizance bond. The case has been continued to Nov. 13 for pretrial. 

Ethan K. English, 22, of 168 Parkgate Ave., Youngstown, has entered a not guilty plea to an Oct. 1 indictment charging him with possession of a fentanyl-related compound, aggravated possession of drugs, driving under the influence and possession of drugs. He has been released on a $25,000 recognizance bond, with the case continued to Nov. 13 for pretrial. 

Ryan J. King, 18, of 1774 Twp. Rd. 378, Steubenville, has entered a not guilty plea to an Oct. 1 indictment charging him with failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer and endangering children. He has been released on a $50,000 recognizance bond, and the case is continued to Nov. 13 for pretrial. 

An order has been issued for an evaluation of competency to stand trial in two criminal cases involving James L. Russell, 43, of 3243 Roswell Rd. SW, Carrollton. The cases include an Oct. 1, 2025, indictment charging Russell with strangulation and domestic violence, and a June 4, 2025, indictment charging him with strangulation and assault. 

Substantial evidence has been found that Amy L. Shanahan, 48, of 9163 W. South St., Minerva, has violated a three-year probation imposed Feb. 1, 2024, for convictions of obstructing justice and aggravated possession of drugs. Shanahan’s community control sanctions have been modified to include 60 days in the Carroll County jail with credit for 10 days served. 

Jud A. Springer, 25, of 4240 Milo Rd. NW, Carrollton, has withdrawn a previous not guilty plea to a July 9, 2025, indictment charging him with aggravated possession of drugs. He has entered a guilty plea to the original charge, a third-degree felony. Springer was sentenced to nine months in prison with credit for 27 days of jail time and ordered to pay all court costs. 

A protection order has been issued in the case of Amy R. Whaley, 58, of 448 N. Lisbon St., Carrollton, involving an Oct. 1, 2025, indictment returned against Whaley charging her with rape, attempted rape, sexual battery and gross sexual imposition. 

Foreclosure actions dismissed 

The foreclosure action filed Sept. 16, 2025, by Lakeview Loan Servicing LLC of Virginia Beach, Va., vs. John D. and Tessa L. Saffell of 6111 Alamo Rd., Scio, et al., has been dismissed on notice of the plaintiff. 

The foreclosure action filed April 25, 2025, by Lakeview Loan Servicing LLC of Virginia Beach, Va., vs. Shawn F. and Lynette White of 8229 Snug Harbor, Amsterdam, et al., has been dismissed on notice of the plaintiff. 

The foreclosure filed Oct. 20, 2023, by U.S. Bank National Association of Owensboro, Ky., vs. Michael J. Baker of 226 Salineville Rd. NE, Carrollton, et al., has been dismissed on notice of the plaintiff. 

Judgment granted 

Lafayette Federal Union of Rockville, Md., has been granted judgment for $54,591.54 in a civil action filed Sept. 3, 2025, against Christopher Debo of 4211 King Rd. NE, Carrollton, et al.
