Brady highlights fiscal oversight, property appraisals and public service focus during Carrollton Rotary meeting; club also hears from Assistant District Governor Eva Roshong.

The Carrollton Rotary Club welcomed Carroll County Auditor Staci Brady as guest speaker at a recent meeting.

Brady outlined her responsibilities as auditor, which include serving as chief fiscal officer with oversight of accounting, accounts payable, financial reporting, budgets and tax settlement. She also acts as local government liaison by providing taxable values and tax rates, receiving filings for the Budget Commission and certifying tax levies. Additional duties include serving as chief payroll officer, overseeing dog licensing, and acting as sealer of weights and measures.

She explained that property value appraisals must be conducted every six years, and 2025 is a review year. Every third year, a property tax assessment is completed under state requirements based on county sales. Brady also described her role as a member and secretary of the county Board of Revision. She told Rotarians that her personal priorities are transparency and public service.

The club also welcomed Assistant District Governor Eva Roshong of the Louisville Rotary Club. Roshong spoke about a future joint meeting with the Malvern club, where the district governor will address both groups. She also invited members to attend Louisville Rotary’s 100th anniversary celebration in September.
