Area high schools announce 2025 homecoming dates
Minerva, Carrollton, Malvern, Conotton Valley, Southern Local, and Edison to celebrate this fall
The tradition of homecoming has its origin in alumni football games held at schools across the country since the 19th century. It is the tradition of welcoming back former students to celebrate a school’s existence.
Each year, festivities kick off with theme days for students. Most homecomings are celebrated with a parade, a football game Friday evening or Saturday, and the crowning of the homecoming king and queen.
Following is a list of scheduled area high school homecomings:
— Minerva High School — Sept. 26
— Carrollton High School — Sept. 27
— Malvern High School — Oct. 3
— Conotton Valley High School — Oct. 3
— Southern Local High School — Oct. 3
— Edison High School — Oct. 3
