Ragersville plans July 4 celebration
The Historical Society will open historic buildings, serve food and host cannon firings and fireworks at 8800 Crooked Run Road SW in Sugarcreek
The Ragersville Historical Society invites the public to visit the village of Ragersville Saturday, July 4, to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
The society will open all of its historic buildings for tours beginning at 2 p.m., including the old schoolhouse, museum, the original winery built in 1848 and the general store, which is now home to The Old Store Winery.
Beginning at 6 p.m., the society will serve hot dogs, popcorn and ice cream at the pavilion, 8800 Crooked Run Road SW, Sugarcreek.
The Old Store Winery will have Grandma Zifer’s pizza available beginning at 2 p.m., and The Tavern of Ragersville will be open with its full menu, starting with breakfast at 9 a.m.
Larry Yoder will begin the evening festivities at 7 p.m. with the firing of the cannon, which will continue on the hour every hour. Following the 10 p.m. cannon firing, the fireworks display will begin.
The fireworks display is sponsored by Ragersville businessmen.
