WoofStock26 draws hundreds to Tuscora Park
Twenty-five nonprofits joined the June 13 event in New Philadelphia, where organizers also awarded donations to three local groups
The second annual WoofStock26, presented by nonprofit radio station The Rock Dog WDOG 105.9 FM, was held June 13 at Tuscora Park.
New Philadelphia Mayor Joel Day and Dover Mayor Shane Gunnoe opened the event, which celebrates local nonprofit organizations and provides an opportunity for them to showcase their services to the community.
Twenty-five nonprofit organizations participated in this year’s event. Entertainment included appearances by The Balloonatik and The Rock Dog mascot, along with musical performances by Bred of Canton, The Next of New Philadelphia, Weasal Face, a Ramones tribute band from Akron, and headliner Dawg Daze of Indianapolis.
At the conclusion of the event, The Rock Dog WDOG 105.9 FM held a drawing among participating nonprofits that remained through the end of the event. Donations were awarded to Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured, $100; Altrusa International of Tuscarawas County, $200; and the Tuscarawas County Public Library, $300.
Wes Hayes won a 55-inch television donated by Rent-2-Own of New Philadelphia.
Organizers reported the event drew hundreds of visitors throughout the day. Plans are already underway for WoofStock27, scheduled for June 12, 2027.
