Event to feature pumpkin painting, costume contest, rides, food and family fun with activities for all ages
The community is invited to celebrate the season at the first Fall Festival, set for Saturday, Oct. 25, from noon to 4 p.m. at Tuscora Park. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26, at the same time.
The event will feature free pumpkin painting, sponsored by Simpson Salute. Each participant will receive a pumpkin and supplies to create their own design. Space is limited and advance registration is required at eventbrite.com. Check-in will be at the Bearcage Pavilion on the hill.
A costume contest is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the amphitheater. Age groups include children 10 and under, teens ages 11 to 17, and adults 18 and older. Participants should arrive by 3 p.m. to enter.
Other activities include free face painting near the Mini Ferris Wheel and amusement rides from noon to 4 p.m. All rides will be open except the Ferris Wheel. Ride prices are $1.50 per ticket or $10 for a booklet of 12. Mini golf will also be available for $4. The ticket booth accepts cash and credit.
The concession stand will offer a fall menu including chili, hot dogs, apple cider, hot chocolate, nachos and other favorites.
Organizers encourage families to attend and enjoy a day of seasonal fun, food and community at Tuscora Park.
