The Tuscarawas County YMCA will hold its third Pie in the Face fundraiser through March 12 to raise money for the Y’s annual campaign, which provides financial assistance for local youth and families.

The fundraiser is set up as a friendly competition among YMCA departments, inviting members and program participants to donate in support of their favorite YMCA director. Collection jugs will be placed at the YMCA Member Service Center throughout the week. Donors can place contributions into the jug for the director they want to support.

The director whose jug collects the most money by the end of the fundraiser will receive a pie in the face Friday, March 13, ahead of Pi Day.

Proceeds will support the YMCA’s annual campaign, which helps cover costs for families who otherwise may not be able to afford memberships and programs. Assistance can include YMCA memberships, swim lessons, preschool, afterschool care, day camp, youth sports and team participation, according to the YMCA.
