Happy Harvesters 4-H Club marks 15th year in Tuscarawas County
The club received two awards for the 2025 4-H year during annual training in February
The Happy Harvesters 4-H Club is kicking off its 15th year as a Tuscarawas County club. With returning members and several new additions, organizers said the club is looking forward to the year ahead.
County older youth positions have been announced, and Peyton Vickers will serve on several teams: Junior Fair Board, junior camp counselor, Food and Fashion Board, and vice president of Junior Leaders. Vickers has attended events to bring new ideas back to the club, including the Ohio Fair Managers Association Conference and Making Extreme Counselors, held in late February.
At the Feb. 15 meeting, the club elected officers for the year. They are Peyton Vickers, president; Lexi Himes, vice president; McKenna Kaiser, secretary; Arabella McCloskey, treasurer; Isabella Wagner, news reporter; and Cole Himes, sergeant-at-arms.
Advisers also shared that the club received two awards for the 2025 4-H year during annual training in February. A project celebrating 175 years of the Tuscarawas County Fair, presented at the Strasburg Branch of the Tuscarawas County Public Library in August, was selected for the 4-H Hands Community Service Award. The club also received a 2025 Silver Honor Club award.
In addition, 2025 club secretary Kaiser and 2025 club treasurer McCloskey earned awards for outstanding record books in their respective offices.
Members ended the meeting with a fishbowl icebreaker game, and snacks were served.
