Coshocton Library launches adult summer challenge
Library Highlights
Celebrate several March observances at the library
Join workshops and exhibits in March for National Craft Month and Developmental Disability Awareness Month
Enjoy a relaxing time creating or perhaps discovering a new hobby in honor of National Craft Month. Upcoming craft programs at the library include the following:
—Making a miniature Hobbit door wreath Monday, March 16.
—Knitting or crocheting at the Fiber Arts Club (beginners welcome) Monday, April 6 at the Coshocton County Main Library.
—Creating a poem and artwork out of recycled book pages Tuesday, April 7 at the branch library and Monday, April 20 at the Coshocton County Main Library.
—Creating a lavender painting Tuesday, May 5 at the branch library or Monday, May 18 at the Coshocton County Main Library.
—Learning about the history of fiber arts Wednesday, May 13 at the Coshocton County Main Library.

In addition to the library’s extensive collection of crafting books and magazines, how-to videos for sewing, knitting, quilting, painting, sketching and more are available through Hoopla Digital and Hobbies and Crafts Source with your library card.
In honor of Developmental Disability Awareness Month, the West Lafayette Branch Library exhibit for March will feature artwork from clients from the Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
In partnership with Coshocton County OSU Extension, the library will host two hands-on workshops this spring for National Nutrition Month, taught by OSU Extension family and consumer sciences educator Emily Marrison. Learn about the benefits of making kombucha, a popular Asian fermented tea drink, Monday, March 23 and get inspired to use an air fryer to cook healthy and delicious meals and snacks Wednesday, April 1. Emily will demonstrate recipes and have samples of foods to taste.

For children in third grade through sixth grade, there will be a Library Yummies hands-on workshop to demonstrate how to make berry yogurt parfaits. This program will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at the Coshocton County Main Library, and registration is required.
A few of the cookbooks recently added to the library’s collection include “Cozy Vegan: 100 Delicious, Plant-Based Comfort Food Recipes” by Liz Douglas, “The Instant Kitchen Meal Prep Cookbook” by Coco Morante and “The Salad Project: How To Build Unlimited Salads” by Clem Haxby.
Ohio will turn 223 years young this year. To celebrate the Buckeye State, join us at the program Notable Ohio to explore some unusual facts and figures about Ohio. For instance, did you know Ohio boasts the largest ketchup-processing plant? This program will be held at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 at the Coshocton County Main Library. Registration is required.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, library reference staff member Christine Cugliari, PhD, will present a special program on the incredible stories of five women philanthropists. Women Giving Back: A History of Women’s Philanthropy will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at the Coshocton County Main Library. Registration is required.
