Reeves Foundation awards $1.53M in grants

A total of $1,530,845.83 in grants was awarded in 2025 to 56 local organizations by the Reeves Foundation.
Founded 53 years ago by businessman Sam Reeves Jr., with funding in part from his two sisters, the foundation continues the Reeves family’s commitment to give back to the community it loved. This year’s grants bring the total awarded by the foundation since its inception to $45,816,741.15.
Some of the grants approved in 2025 include:
Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society, Dover — $135,021.98 — two skid loaders
Village of Mineral City, Mineral City — $50,000 — playground equipment
Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured, Dover — $1,428.80 — blood pressure and diabetes management
East Central Ohio Educational Service Center, New Philadelphia — $5,000 — Family Reading Fest
Village of Zoar, Zoar — $66,315.29 — playground construction
Kent State University at Tuscarawas, New Philadelphia — $65,000 — audio and digital system for the Performing Arts Center
The Wilderness Center, Wilmot — $8,060 — trail design and construction

Requests of all sizes are considered for capital projects. All organizations must be certified as a 501(c)(3). The foundation board meets bimonthly to consider grant requests. Meeting dates and grant request deadlines are available on the foundation’s website.
