Dennison Rotary to host community health blood screenings in April

The Rotary Club of Dennison will host its annual Community Health Blood Screening.

The Rotary Club of Dennison will host its annual Community Health Blood Screening Saturday, April 11 and Saturday, April 18 at Eastport Avenue Elementary School, 1200 Eastport Ave., Uhrichsville.

Appointments will be available between 5:15 and 10:30 a.m. Participants should enter the school on the stadium/parking lot side of the building.

The $50 basic profile includes more than 50 blood tests, including screenings for diabetes, cholesterol and triglycerides, liver and kidney function, calcium, phosphorus, gout, iron deficiency, complete blood count for anemia and infection, thyroid function (TSH) and more.

Fasting for 10-12 hours is recommended. Water consumption is permitted and encouraged. Optional tests are available for an additional fee including the following:

    —PSA prostate cancer screening (male participants), $15.

    —Hemoglobin A1C (blood sugar level over six to 12 weeks), $15.

    —Vitamin D testing, $25.

    —Colorectal test kit (colon cancer screening), $25.

    —Urine microalbumin (detects blood protein, a precursor to kidney damage), $25.

    —Thyroid test bundle (T3, T4, Free T3 and Free T4), $125.

Preregistration is required. Online registration will begin March 1 at www.dennisonrotary.com/health-checkup.

Appointments also may be scheduled by calling 740-229-7575 from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 17 or Saturday, March 21.

Online preregistration closes prior to each event date to allow time to prepare paperwork. Walk-ins will be charged an additional $5 registration fee and may experience extended wait times.

Payment will be accepted by cash, check or money order payable to the Dennison Rotary Club. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted.
