Award-winning author Sheri Yutzy announced the upcoming release of a new young adult romantasy novel, “The Seller of Secrets,” which is set to be released April 21 by Turner Publishing Company.
A book release party at the Dover Public Library, 525 N. Walnut St., Dover is scheduled April 22, at 6:30 p.m.
Inspired by historical Florence, Italy and Renaissance-era Medici legends, the novel is pitched for fans of “Caraval” and “Graceless Heart.” The story is described as a lush, atmospheric romance that explores themes of power and responsibility, trust and the meaning of art.
In the novel, Bell, a girl with a powerful gift for fusing magical elixirs, uncovers a plot by the Seller of Secrets to brainwash her entire city. She alone can create an antidote, but when her experiments threaten the sanity of those she loves, she is forced to rely on an unlikely ally — the Seller’s own spy.
“‘The Seller of Secrets’ was sparked by a magical week I spent in Florence, Italy and my own experiences growing into an adult who believes I can make a difference in the world,” Yutzy said.
“The Seller of Secrets” will be available in hardcover, paperback and ebook formats at major retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble and independent bookstores.
Yutzy is an award-winning YA fantasy author who lives in a small Ohio town in a 19th-century Italianate home with her musician husband and four children. When not writing, the author tends a garden, bakes or spends time with the youngest children.
