Moore headlines area’s All-Ohio boys basketball honorees

The accolades continued for Strasburg-Franklin senior guard Gage Moore, whose stellar senior season left him as the most decorated boys basketball player in the county in 2025-26.
The 6-foot-2 Moore, who averaged 16.2 points, was the only area player named to one of the top three teams this season. He was given a spot on the Division VII All-Ohio second team, adding that honor to the East District Player of the Year award he garnered earlier.
Moore’s teammate Ryan Becker, a 6-3 junior who scored 12 points per outing, received all-state special mention.
Also in Division VII, Tuscarawas Central Catholic senior Dylan Dummermuth, a 6-foot guard averaging 8 points, received honorable mention.
In the bigger-school ranks, Dover senior Robbie Copple, a 6-foot senior guard, earned All-Ohio special mention in Division III. Copple averaged 15 points for the Tornadoes. Copple’s sophomore teammate Dieter Weber, a 6-2 guard, averaged 12.5 points and received all-state honorable mention.
For New Philadelphia, senior Reid Wells, a 5-8 senior guard who averaged 11 points, received All-Ohio special mention. Senior Aidan Mushrush, a 6-4 senior forward, received honorable mention.
In Division VI, Indian Valley junior Ryker Williams received all-state special mention. The 6-foot guard averaged 17 points. Senior teammate Colt James, a 6-3 forward averaging 16 points, received honorable mention.
Also in Division VI, Claymont senior Myles Wolf, a 5-11 guard, received all-state special mention after averaging 14.6 points. His junior teammate, Jackson Jinks, received honorable mention after scoring 13.4 points per outing.
In Division V, Caleb Deubner, a 6-2 junior who averaged 14.0 points per game, received honorable mention for Sandy Valley. Cole Kuykendall, a 6-2 senior averaging 12 points for Tusky Valley, also received honorable mention.
Gavin Smith, a 6-3 senior who averaged 19.7 points per game for Newcomerstown, received All-Ohio special mention in Division VI. His classmate, Javyn Lafferty, a 6-foot guard averaging 18.8 points, received honorable mention.

New Philadelphia landed two players on the All-Ohio Cardinal Conference first team, with Wells and Mushrush both getting the nod. Sophomore Jackson Martini was named to the second team, with senior Isaac Roma-Willey and junior Cooper Maltarich each receiving honorable mention.
Copple was a first-team pick for Dover. Weber earned a second-team nod along with junior Luke Leggett. Senior Cam Nauer received honorable mention for the Tornadoes.
In the Inter-Valley Conference North, Newcomerstown’s Smith and Lafferty were first-team choices along with Strasburg’s Moore. Tanner Smith, a Newcomerstown senior, was a second-team selection, along with TCC’s Dummermuth and Ryan Becker of Strasburg-Franklin.
Honorable mention went to Newcomerstown sophomore Gavin Smith, Strasburg-Franklin senior Gage Bonifant and TCC junior Ethan Rothrock.
In the IVC South, Claymont’s Wolf was on the first team, along with James and Williams of Indian Valley and Kuykendall of Tusky Valley. Claymont’s Jinks, Sandy Valley’s Deubner, Indian Valley junior Cam Enama and Tusky Valley senior Brady May all earned second-team berths.
Claymont’s Cole Murray, Indian Valley’s Deagan Beaber, Sandy Valley’s Thorn Stenger and Tusky Valley’s Isaac Matthews, all seniors, received all-conference honorable mention.
