Dover announces 2026 athletic Hall of Fame class
Tom Armstrong Jr., the 1999 undefeated football team, Jim Gordon, Rob Becker, Jim McFadden, Seth Gintz, Anna Comella and Dan Ifft will be honored
The Dover High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee announced the induction Class of 2026. The ceremony will be held as a ticketed event at Dover High School Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at 7 p.m.
The class includes five individuals, one legend, one lifetime contributor and one team spanning a time period of 1957 to 2024.
The inductee in the Legends category is Tom Armstrong Jr. (1957); the team inductee is the 1999 undefeated football team; the Lifetime Contributor Award inductee is Jim Gordon (1979); and the five individual inductees are Rob Becker (2000), Jim McFadden (2000), Seth Gintz (2000), Anna Comella (2004), and Dan Ifft (1995-2024).
The 2026 Dover High School homecoming weekend festivities include the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m., followed by the varsity homecoming football game against Wooster at Crater Stadium Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m., along with the after-game celebration hosted by Shenanigans, and concluding with the Dover High School Homecoming Dance Saturday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the Hall of Fame banquet will be available for purchase in the DHS Athletic Office beginning Sept. 1.
