The featured event is the Battle of the Bricks, a fast-paced, lighthearted LEGO speed-building competition designed for builders of all skill levels. The recommended age is 9 and older. Local businesses and organizations are invited to support the event by sponsoring and registering a team.
Competition start times for Battle of the Bricks will be scheduled between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., with final times announced after the registration deadline.
For the $100 registration fee, sponsored teams will receive entry for a 2-person team, although teams may compete with 1 participant if preferred. Teams also will receive a midsize LEGO set of about 300 pieces to keep after the competition, the chance to compete for bragging rights in a community-focused event, and recognition on social media before and after the event.
In addition to the Build-Off, the day will feature a range of LEGO-themed activities, including building challenges, a LEGO Fire Walk, face painting and more.
Jaxon’s Bricks for Bravery is a nonprofit based in Newcomerstown that supports children facing medical challenges by promoting joy, creativity and courage.
Organizers said they hope to create an engaging, family-friendly experience for the community and encourage local businesses to sponsor a team and enter team members in the competition.
Support for the event helps children build bravery, one brick at a time.
