A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Wellness Center in Malvern will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, beginning at 1 p.m., followed by self-guided tours at 2 p.m.

Those planning to attend are asked to enter through the high school gym doors A7, according to Brown Local School District Superintendent Danielle Hawk.

The new Malvern Community Learning and Wellness Center, a 6,880-square-foot facility, was constructed by Brown Local Schools in partnership with Aultman Health through a $3.5 million grant, part of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s ongoing investment in Appalachian communities.

The center will provide comprehensive services, including healthcare, mental health, addiction and recovery services, CARE Team support, and physical fitness opportunities for staff and the broader community. The facility will be open year-round on weekdays.

The center also will include a school-operated preschool classroom, designed to expand high-quality early learning services in the Malvern community.
