Christ Community Church in Dellroy will present three special Holy Week services during its fourth annual live Easter presentations.

With a passionate desire to tell the story of Easter, these live portrayals follow the last week of Jesus’ life on Earth. The church will share the story through acting, singing, dancing, lighting, sets, period costumes, sound effects and powerful narration.

Palm Sunday service will be March 29 at 10 a.m. Worshippers will wave palm branches as Jesus rides into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. The multitude gathers to welcome Him with dancing and singing. This service marks the beginning of His Passion — His time of suffering, death and resurrection. Today, they hail Him as King. In a few days, they will be screaming, “Crucify Him.”

Two live Passion Play presentations will be held Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m. and Friday, April 3, at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Jesus is back in Jerusalem to share the Last Supper with His disciples. Narrators, actors and singers vividly lead the audience through the garden, His betrayal and arrest. Falsely accused, Jesus is followed through His conviction, trials and crucifixion. The audience sees Him nailed to the cross and listens as He utters, “It is finished,” and dies. Laid in a borrowed tomb with the stone securely rolled into place and guards posted, Jesus is dead.

Jesus has been dead for three days. The presentation considers how hopeless the disciples must have felt that first Easter morning. Then, miraculously, the stone rolls away and worshippers rejoice in the resurrection of the Lord and Savior. Jesus has conquered death, hell and the grave.

Christ Community Church is located at 20 E. Main St. in Dellroy.
