Carroll County annex project advances as commissioners approve key change orders
Board reports project remains on schedule, reviews septic installation contract and dog warden activity in weekly session
Carroll County commissioners discussed change orders and the annex building at their Oct. 16 meeting.
The board approved two change orders presented by Commissioner Donald Leggett II. The first was Change Order No. 12 for the annex building, which resulted in a $3,910 credit due to omitted blinds and modifications to the chain link fence. Commissioners expressed surprise at receiving a credit, noting a credit doesn’t happen very often.
The second approval was Change Order No. 1 for the Dellroy Community Center Improvement Project in the amount of $2,230, covering the preparation and filling of interior control joints on the main floor.
Leggett also gave updates on the annex building project, including the installation of new signage on the building that can be seen from Canton Road, the ongoing carpet installation and AEP’s plan to remove five telephone poles with old security lights. The project remains on schedule, with completion expected next month.
In other business, commissioners:
— Approved a contract with JB Milner Complete Septic Service of Monroe, Ohio, for $13,500 to install a septic system for a residence on Magnet Road Northeast as part of the 2024 Water Pollution Control Loan Fund Project. They also voted to forward the contract to the county prosecutor for review of form and function.
— Heard Dog Warden Merle Long present his weekly report, noting that five dogs were impounded, two were adopted, none were redeemed or euthanized and two citations were issued — one for no license and one for a dog running at large.
— Paid the bills of $114,661.76.
