Minerva school board honored during Board Appreciation Month
The evening’s highlight featured students, who presented board members with oversized handmade thank-you cards and original artwork
The five members of the Minerva Local Board of Education were honored during the board’s Feb. 23 meeting as part of Ohio School Boards Association Board Appreciation Month.
The district marked the occasion with the theme “Scaling New Heights,” which Superintendent Mark Scott said reflects the board’s commitment to supporting students as they progress from preschool through graduation.
Scott thanked board members for supporting a well-rounded educational experience and said their leadership helps ensure students have access to academics, the arts and athletics, extracurricular activities, a whole-child framework and school safety.
The evening’s highlight featured Minerva Elementary second-grade students, who presented board members with oversized handmade thank-you cards and original artwork. Attendees also viewed a “Scaling New Heights” video tribute.
“We are very fortunate to have such a well-rounded, hard-working and dedicated school board for Minerva Local Schools,” Scott said. “They are always student-centered in every decision they make. We appreciate their dedication to our students and our community.”
Scott said the board’s vision and dedication continue to help ensure every student is equipped to “reach new heights.”
Following the recognition and the conclusion of district business, board members and community visitors attended a reception with fresh fruit and cookies.
