Spring is almost here, and time is running out to order trees and fish through the Carroll Soil and Water Conservation District. The preorder deadline is approaching, and some tree species are running low.
The tree and shrub sale includes items such as blueberries, thornless blackberry, apple and peach trees, pawpaw, arborvitae, white oak, black walnut, shagbark hickory and New Jersey tea. Orders are due Friday, April 3. Pickup will be Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SWCD office.
The spring fish sale includes largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, yellow perch, hybrid bluegill, shellcrackers, black crappie, fathead minnows, white amur and Japanese koi. Fish orders are due March 20. Pickup will be Friday, March 27, at 9 a.m. The new pickup location is 103 Firehouse Lane, Hopedale, in Harrison County.
