Weimer selected for common pleas judge ballot
If elected, she said she plans to continue serving the community as judge of the Court of Common Pleas
The Tuscarawas County Democratic Party Central Committee selected Attorney Christine Weimer to be placed on the general election ballot for the office of judge of the Court of Common Pleas. The seat became vacant following the retirement of Judge Elizabeth Thomakos.
Weimer has served as a magistrate of the New Philadelphia Municipal Court for the past 12 years. She is the current president of the Ohio Association of Magistrates.
With experience presiding over a range of cases, Weimer has served in the municipal court handling various matters. As a magistrate, she has worked to ensure individuals appearing in court are treated with dignity and respect.
As president of the Ohio Association of Magistrates, Weimer has advocated for professional development and supported magistrates across Ohio. In that role, she has worked with the organization on judicial standards and court practices.
She also has worked with the Ohio Judicial College and the local bar association on continuing judicial education and professional development programs.
Prior to being selected as a magistrate, Weimer served as city prosecutor for New Philadelphia and Dover. If elected, she said she plans to continue serving the community as judge of the Court of Common Pleas.
