The Tuscarawas County Public Library will offer genealogy classes this winter and spring for people at all stages of family history research.
The library will host Genealogy Websites for Beginners at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2. The class will cover basic websites to help participants begin researching their family history.
A second class, Researching Military Records, will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 16. Genealogist Deb Kitko will discuss how military records can be used as a resource for family history research.
“These classes are great for anyone who thinks they may be interested in researching their family history,” said Gina Merrill, public service associate. “The classes highlight the resources available at your county library to research your family tree at no cost.”
The library will also offer Book a Genealogist sessions on the following dates: Jan. 21; Feb. 4 and 18; March 4 and 18; and April 1, 15 and 29. Participants may schedule a 90-minute session between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to work with a genealogy specialist.
All classes and sessions are free and open to the public, but registration is required. Register online at tusclibrary.org or call 330-364-4474.
The Main Library is located at 121 Fair Ave. NW, New Philadelphia.
