Tuscarawas Arts Partnership will celebrate the next generation of artists at Arts Signing Day May 4 at the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center. The annual event honors graduating seniors pursuing careers in the arts or continuing their education in arts and culture, recognizing their dedication, creativity and commitment to continuing their artistic journey beyond high school.
In addition to celebrating all participating students, Arts Signing Day will introduce the Emerging Artist Scholarship, a competitive award presented to two or three students selected by a panel of arts professionals and community leaders. The scholarship recognizes outstanding artistic commitment, personal growth and dedication to the arts.
Graduating seniors can complete the scholarship application within the Arts Signing Day registration form. The application includes questions about students’ artistic journey, the impact of the arts on their lives and their future plans. Students also may submit a portfolio, video, images, writing sample or other work to showcase their art. Students submitting artwork should email it to marycm@tuscarawasartspartnership.org with the subject line “Emerging Artist Scholarship Application.” Applications will still be considered even if no artwork is submitted.
“Arts Signing Day is about celebrating every student pursuing the arts, and this year’s scholarship program allows us to highlight exceptional talent in a meaningful way,” said Mary Maxwell, public relations and outreach coordinator for TAP. “We’re thrilled to give these outstanding students an opportunity to be recognized for their dedication and creativity.”

All participating students will be recognized during the Arts Signing Day ceremony, with scholarship recipients announced as part of the celebration.
