Haman Family Foundation awards grants to county organizations

The charitable foundation was created by the late Robert L. and Freda I. Haman, lifelong residents of the area

New Philadelphia Band Boosters Association received $4,000 to purchase saxophones and a tuba case for the music program at New Philadelphia City Schools.

The Haman Family Foundation recently awarded grants to eight Tuscarawas County organizations. The charitable foundation was created by the late Robert L. and Freda I. Haman, lifelong residents of the area, to assist qualified charities in the county.

Grant recipients were:

New Philadelphia Band Boosters Association — $4,000 to purchase saxophones and a tuba case for the music program at New Philadelphia City Schools.

New Philadelphia Youth Soccer Association — $5,000 for development of soccer fields at Southside Community Park, including the purchase of 10 mini soccer goals.

Newcomerstown Historical Society — $1,550 to paint display cabinets in the community room of Temperance Tavern Museum.

Ohio Hospice LifeCare — $3,000 for the 16th annual “You’re Not Alone” bereavement camp to provide grief support for children ages 7-17.

Tuscarawas Arts Partnership — $3,000 for office equipment and furniture for its move to a larger office.

Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition — $1,000 to purchase copies of “The Distance to Home” for the 2026 One Book One Community program.

Village of Midvale — $3,000 to help purchase an ATV used to maintain Midvale’s ballfields and park.

Waterford Players — $3,000 to design and install stage lighting in the Railroad Room of the Dennison Municipal Building for theatrical performances and other community events.
