Ghost Chase 5K and Kids’ Run set for Oct. 18 in Dover

Awards with a Halloween theme will be presented to the top three male and female finishers and the top three finishers in each age group.

The Ghost Chase 5K and Kids’ Run, sponsored by the Dover Knights of Columbus, will be held Saturday, Oct. 18. The Kids’ Run will begin at 8:45 a.m. and is a free event of about 400 yards for young children. No registration is required, and all participants will receive a ribbon.

The 5K will start at 9 a.m. at the Dover Knights of Columbus Hall, located at the end of West Ninth Street near the Warther Museum lower parking lot. The Halloween-themed race will take runners and walkers along a course featuring dirt roads, cemetery paths and city streets.

Door prizes will be awarded for the best costumes, and all participants will receive a moisture management long-sleeve shirt. Awards with a Halloween theme will be presented to the top three male and female finishers and the top three finishers in each age group.

All proceeds from the race benefit Dover Knights of Columbus activities in support of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School.

Registration is $25 through Oct. 12 and $30 from Oct. 13 through race day. Participants may register at www.runsignup.com.
