DoverPhila Credit Union pledges $250K to Jack’s House of Hope

Five-year commitment supports new shelter facility honoring legacy of service

Jack’s House of Hope is a 20,000-square-foot facility being built behind Friends of the Homeless’ current shelter on East High Avenue in New Philadelphia.

DoverPhila Federal Credit Union has committed $250,000 over the next five years — $50,000 annually beginning in 2025 — to Friends of the Homeless of Tuscarawas County to help make Jack’s House of Hope a reality.

The contribution honors former CEO Dave Andreatta for his lasting impact on DoverPhila and his legacy of servant leadership and community investment.

“We are proud to commit $250,000 over the next five years to help bring this incredible vision to life,” said Jason Garner, CEO of DoverPhila Federal Credit Union. “Projects like this are what make our community stronger, and we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of something that will provide comfort, care and hope for so many.”

The new building will include about 27 private rooms for individuals and four rooms for families. It will also feature a chapel, enclosed courtyard, playground, community room, meeting space and offices.

“The Friends of the Homeless greatly appreciates the tremendous support of the credit union,” said Executive Director Calvin White. The campaign goal for Jack’s House of Hope is $5.5 million, with more than $4.5 million already pledged. “The support of DoverPhila Federal Credit Union gives us great confidence that we will reach our goals. We are blessed by the community support of our neighbors who most need our help.”

Friends of the Homeless hopes to move into the new facility before the end of the year.
