Dover library showcases sci-fi artwork by Brian Perkins
Exhibit features futuristic sculptures crafted from household and electronic materials, inspired by Blade Runner, H.R. Giger and Dune.
The Dover Public Library invites the public to view the unique, sci-fi–inspired artwork of Brian Perkins throughout the month of November.
Using household objects and discarded electronic parts, Perkins creates pieces that blend Blade Runner–style futurism with the aesthetics of Swiss artist H.R. Giger, designer of the creature in Alien, and the imaginative worlds of Frank Herbert’s “Dune” novels.
“Sci-fi is really in fashion right now,” said display case curator Steven Shroyer. “When our programming coordinator, Sherrel Rieger, showed me photos of Brian’s artwork, I knew we had to have this displayed.”
The Dover Public Library welcomes community members who have collections or displays they would like to share with the public to contact the library for future exhibit opportunities.
The Dover Public Library is at 525 N. Walnut St. For more information, call 330-343-6123 or visit doverlibrary.org.
