The Tuscarawas County Public Library System invites the community to Take Your Child to the Library Day Saturday, Feb. 7.

Launched in Connecticut in 2012, the event has grown into an international celebration to encourage families to visit their local libraries and highlight libraries as community resources for learning and entertainment.

Four library locations will host free, family-friendly programs:

— The Bolivar Branch, 455 W. Water St., will host a paint-and-take family day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No experience is required.

— The Tusky Branch, 209 S. Main St., will host a visit with adoptable animals from the Tuscarawas County Humane Society at 11 a.m.

— Children ages 2-5 can attend a special storytime and a behind-the-scenes tour at the Main Library, 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia, at 11 a.m.
