Buckeye Career Center earns second straight 5-star rating

Buckeye Career Center has earned a five-star rating on the 2024-25 Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Career Technical Planning District report card, marking the second consecutive year the school has achieved the top honor.

The annual report card evaluates schools on achievement, graduation rate, career and postsecondary readiness, and post-program outcomes. Buckeye Career Center’s results highlight its commitment to student success and career preparation.

The school earned four stars in achievement, with 84.5 percent of students exceeding state standards in technical and academic performance. In career and postsecondary readiness, Buckeye earned five stars, with 112.9 percent of students significantly exceeding state standards. This measure reviews how well-prepared students are for future opportunities.

Buckeye also received five stars in graduation, reporting a 96.6 percent four-year graduation rate and a 95.3 percent five-year graduation rate. In post-program outcomes, the center earned five stars with 97.3 percent of graduates employed, in apprenticeships, serving in the military, enrolled in higher education or receiving advanced training within six months of graduation.

“This recognition is the culmination of hard work by all stakeholders,” Superintendent Bob Alsept said. “We have been fortunate to increase our enrollment while remaining committed to achievement. To be recognized as a five-star career center is appreciated by all.”

As of Sept. 15, 2025, Buckeye Career Center reported an enrollment of 1,133 students, an increase of 100 students compared with September 2024.
