River View Elementary hosts kindergarten screening
Over 90 children assessed for school readiness in Coshocton County event
River View Elementary School recently held a successful kindergarten screening event, welcoming families and future students from across the community.
Staff members worked to ensure a smooth experience as they screened just over 90 incoming kindergartners. The event provided an important opportunity to assess school readiness while also helping children become familiar with their future learning environment. Families were able to meet staff, ask questions and begin building connections ahead of the upcoming school year.
Parents and guardians who were unable to attend still have an opportunity to have their children screened. If you have a student who will be age 5 by Aug. 19, they are eligible to be screened for entrance into kindergarten for the 2026–27 school year. To schedule a screening appointment, families are encouraged to call the elementary office at 740-824-3727.
In addition, RVES is now accepting applications for preschool spots for the 2026–27 school year. The application is available online through the school website and the elementary social media accounts. Preschool registration day will take place Wednesday, April 29 and is by appointment only. Once an application has been completed, families will be contacted with information on how to schedule their registration appointment.
