Coshocton 4-H clubs earn Banner Status
Ten local clubs recognized for outstanding achievements in 2025 including two with 42-year histories
The 4-H Banner Club is an application clubs can fill out at the end of the year, showing they have really gone above and beyond with their club for the whole year.
There are points awarded for different things such as getting all their paperwork done on time; percentage of kids getting their project evaluated, completed and sent to the statewide level; advisers going to state level; and having a community presence by promoting 4-H throughout the year.
Coshocton has a long history of groups receiving Banner Club over the years. The 4-H advisory committee rewards them sometimes with cash or the 4-H ball. If they don’t have a flag yet or a gavel, they can get those when they receive the status of Banner Club.
After the 2025 year of service, 10 local clubs have received the Banner Club status. Some of the clubs are in the five years or less club. Millfork Valley 4-H Club and This-N-That 4-H club are both Banner Clubs having both achieved their 42nd year.
According to Jenny Strickler, educator for 4-H youth development, they also must turn in their secretary and treasurers book for review, and they get points for participating in judging at the fair.
The 2025 Banner Club recipients were Blue Ridge 4-H Club, three years; Hamilton Valley Hustlers 4-H Club, three years; Happy Tracks 4-H Club, nine years; Hooves, Hands and Hearts 4-H Club, four years; Kamelid Kushers 4-H Club, 29 years; Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club, 17 years; Magic Makers 4-H Club, 18 years; Millfork Valley 4-H Club, 42 years; Mohawk Valley 4-H Club, 26 years; and This-N-That 4-H Club, 42 years.
Each club received a $50 check this year from the Coshocton County 4-H Advisory Committee to celebrate however they choose.
