Minerva schools earn state auditor’s award for financial excellence
District recognized for clean audit, transparency and strong stewardship of public funds.
Minerva Local Schools has received the prestigious Ohio Auditor of State Award for excellence in financial reporting and compliance for fiscal year 2024.
The award was presented to Treasurer Ashley Beaumariage and her team, assistants Emily Winter and Mandy Mitchell, in recognition of their outstanding and transparent accounting practices.
Superintendent Mark Scott praised the accomplishment. “We have earned this honor several times, but it should not be taken for granted, as less than 8% of Ohio agencies that are eligible receive this award,” Scott said. “The citizens of Minerva are well served by your outstanding leadership and practices.”
A mark of distinction
The Auditor of State Award is presented to entities that meet the criteria of a “clean” audit report. This means the audit contains no findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses or significant deficiencies. It also signifies that the district follows high ethical standards and best practices in its financial operations.
Scott added his congratulations to the treasurer’s office. “At Minerva Local Schools, we continue to implement best practices and be great stewards of the resources that are entrusted to us,” he said. “Ashley and her team represent our community with outstanding leadership and care.”
Beaumariage accepted the award on behalf of her department. “We are very proud and honored to receive the Auditor of State Award,” she said. “This is a team effort, and we are very excited to continue to work toward this goal every year.”
