Holiday lights shine across Carroll County
Families are encouraged to take their time and enjoy the creativity and spirit showcased along the county’s roads
It’s worth taking a drive through Carrollton and Carroll County this holiday season, where beautiful, unique and extravagant outdoor Christmas displays brighten neighborhoods and welcome visitors. The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau have highlighted several locations in and around downtown Carrollton and across the county for residents looking to enjoy a festive evening out.
In downtown Carrollton, lights begin near Second Street SE at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and continue along Lisbon Street, Public Square and Main Street. Businesses adding holiday lights and decorations include McFadden Insurance, Starstruck Dance & Gymnastics, Deli on the Square, the Carroll County Chamber/CVB Office, Bud’s Farm Toys, Bud’s Flowers & Gifts and the Virginia Restaurant. The Downtown Alley at 70 N. Lisbon St. and Lane’s Corner on South Lisbon Street are also part of the seasonal display. Travelers along Canton Road NW can stop by Raven-N-Wolf at 703 Canton Road NW for additional holiday cheer.
One of the most popular destinations outside Carrollton is the Scott Family Christmas display in Magnolia. Located at 310 E. Carrollton St., the show features 385,000 lights synchronized to music and glowing each night from 5:30 to 10 p.m. through Jan. 7, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Santa will visit Dec. 20, and guests on Fridays and Saturdays can enjoy hot chocolate and candy canes. A donation box is located in the tunnel for those wishing to support the display.
Holiday lights can also be found throughout Malvern, Leesville, Dellroy, Sherrodsville and Minerva, where homeowners and businesses have added their own seasonal touches. The Chamber encourages families to take their time and enjoy the creativity and spirit showcased along the county’s roads.
