Carroll County to host Emergency Services Appreciation Day after election
Event will honor first responders and employers who support volunteer emergency workers; commissioners also approve board appointment, spending updates and courthouse closure for Election Day.
Commissioners held a brief Thursday morning meeting Oct. 23.
Commissioner Robert Wirkner said the second annual Emergency Services Appreciation Day for emergency personnel will be held after the upcoming elections.
This year’s event will recognize the county’s emergency service personnel and honor the local employers who allow these volunteers to leave work to respond to emergencies.
Wirkner emphasized these employers play a vital role in supporting Carroll County’s emergency services and community safety.
In other business, commissioners:
— Appointed Renee Moran of Carrollton to the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities for the remainder of a four-year term that expires Dec. 31, 2026.
— Advised the health flexible spending account limit is increasing from $3,300 per year to $3,400 and the carryover is rising from $660 to $680.
— Learned the courthouse will close at noon Tuesday, Nov. 4, in observance of Election Day.
— Reapproved 14 right-of-way permits for INR Ohio LLC related to the Casper TWL project, extending completion dates originally set for Nov. 7, 2024.
— Paid bills totaling $110,560.59.
