The trip also will include Smithsonian visits as well as visits to many notable memorials, monuments and buildings

The Mineral City VFD is inviting adults to join them for a three-day, two-night bus trip to Washington, D.C., Oct. 3-5.
Initial deposits are due by May 1, and spaces will be filled on a first-paid basis.
The trip will depart from the Mineral City fire station aboard a state-of-the-art Barons Bus Lines motor coach. The trip cost will cover round-trip bus transportation, two nights in the Hampton Inn-Navy Yard hotel, five meals, including a meal at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, along with various admissions, professional tour guide service, taxes and gratuities.
The trip is limited to ages 18 and older.
The tour will start in the D.C. area at the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Smithsonian Museum, where visitors can check out the Space Shuttle Discovery, the SR-71 Blackbird, the Enola Gay bomber and more. Continuing on, the tour will head to Arlington National Cemetery, where visitors will take a tram tour to see the JFK eternal flame as well as watch the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The trip also will include additional Smithsonian visits as well as visits to many notable memorials, monuments and buildings. Participants will get to tour the home of President George Washington at his Mount Vernon estate, as well as take a tour of the Capitol Building.
Cost of the trip is $620 per person for double occupancy, with discounts for triple and quad occupancy. A $200 nonrefundable deposit is due by May 1. Full trip details can be found on the Mineral City Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page.
