Library system to offer poetry, writing programs in April
The programs are free, but registration is required
In recognition of National Poetry Month, the Tuscarawas County Public Library System will offer several poetry- and writing-themed programs in April.
Poetry Art will be held at 6 p.m. April 7 at the Main Library. Adults may attend a creative session exploring how art and poetry can complement each other. Participants may try creating poetry with collage or other artistic methods.
Fill-in-the-Blanks Poetry will be held at 4:30 p.m. April 17 at the Main Library. School-age children in grades three-six may take part in a program designed to put a humorous twist on poetry by filling in blanks in classic prose.
A Creative Writing Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. April 20 at the Main Library. Adults may take part in writing prompts designed to help generate ideas for writing projects.
Write on Track: A Writer’s Support Group will be held from 9-11 a.m. April 25 at Amish Country Donuts & Café, 522 Dover Road NE, Sugarcreek. Adults and teens may receive encouragement and support in meeting writing goals and may bring a sample of their work to share.
The programs are free, but registration is required. To register, visit the events calendar at tusclibrary.org or call the Main Library at 330-364-4474 or the Sugarcreek Branch at 330-852-2813.
