Lady Huskies go 2-2 in week of action
The third road game of the week was played April 24 and ended with a better result as the Huskies shut out Oak Glen 4-0
April 20, the Lady Huskies took to the Big Red turf to face Steubenville. The Big Reds took an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning. Harrison scored two runs in the third to narrow the deficit. The Big Reds added another four-run inning in the bottom of the third, stretching the lead to 8-2. Both teams added to their totals in the fifth inning, with the Dogs plating one run and Steubenville plating two, leading to a final score of Big Reds 10, Huskies 3.
Jaylin Ward hit a triple. Kam Crothers recorded a double and drove in two runs. Mikayla Pelegreen and Emma Jarvis each contributed two singles, and Bailey Smith added an RBI.
Pelegreen took the loss on the mound. Six Huskies were charged with errors during the contest.
April 22, the Huskies returned home against Barnesville. Barnesville scored first, scoring three unearned runs in the fourth inning. The Lady Huskies bounced back, scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. All seven Husky hits were singles. Pelegreen, Kara Blackburn and Kamryn Campbell all had RBIs. Blackburn drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly. These two innings accounted for all the scoring in the contest for a final score of Harrison Central 5, Barnesville 3. The Huskies outhit the Shamrocks 7-2.
Pelegreen earned the victory in the circle, striking out 10 while allowing two hits and surrendering two walks. The Huskies were charged with three errors.
Harrison Central was back on the road April 23, traveling to Richmond to face Edison. The Wildcats earned a repeat victory over the Huskies, this time by a 6-2 count. Edison took a 5-0 lead heading into the sixth inning by scoring two runs in both the second and fourth innings and one run in the fifth. The Huskies responded by scoring two runs in the sixth inning. Denali Stull led off the inning reaching on an error, followed by a Crothers walk. After two pop-ups to the infield, Lillian Thomas hit a double to left field, scoring both runs. The Wildcats outhit the Huskies 9-6.
Pelegreen took the loss, striking out five and walking three.

With one out, Blackburn singled. Stull followed with a walk. After a fielder’s choice, Ward singled, scoring Stull. Smith then scored Ward and Crothers, doubling to right field. The score remained 3-0 until the fifth inning, when Crothers circled the bases after an errant throw by Oak Glen. The Huskies outhit the Golden Bears 5-4. Oak Glen committed three errors compared to one by the Huskies.
Pelegreen struck out four from the circle, shutting out the Bears.
