River View rallies to beat Morgan
Bears secure first win with late-inning comeback in high school baseball
River View picked up its first victory of the season, rallying to defeat Morgan 4-3.
Trailing 2-1 early, the Bears responded with two runs in the fifth inning and added another in the sixth to take the lead for good. River View’s timely hitting and strong pitching helped secure the comeback win.
Reid Johnson paced the Bears at the plate with a pair of singles and scored a run. John Sneed added a hit and drove in two runs while Blaze Klein contributed an RBI single. Eric Arnold chipped in with a double.
Maguire Werntz earned the win on the mound, pitching all seven innings. Werntz scattered four hits while striking out 11 and walking three in a strong complete-game performance.
