A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Aug. 26 at the new Genesis
Coshocton Specialty Center.
The new facility at 646 Chestnut St. in Coshocton includes specialized
services for cancer care, endocrinology, lung care, pain management, rheumatology, and a Crohn’s and colitis clinic, all in one location.
“We’ve been seeing patients here full-time since March 10,”
said Kara Hatfield, practice director with Genesis HealthCare. “The public has
been very receptive. These are specialties that patients had to drive an hour or
even an hour and half to get to in the past.”
Providers seeing patients in the new facility include Jennifer Pennock, M.D., endocrinology; Kamesh Gupta, M.D., gastroenterology; Aasim Rehman, M.D., rheumatology; Shehla Atiqu, M.D., rheumatology; Katy Hunter, APRN-CNP, rheumatology; Kimberly Tilton, APRN-CNP; and Laraine Kemery, APRN-CNP, cancer care.
Also at the center is Joy Stashonsky, APRN-CNP, lung care; Tisha N. Archer,
APRN-CNP, Michele Kirkbride, APRN-CNP, and Tami Mohan, PA, with interventional pain management; and a pharmacy.
“Endocrinology will be here full-time, and the other
specialists will divide their time here,” Hatfield said. “We got very lucky
with this building. It is one of the most beautiful buildings we have, and we
are very fortunate to have this much space.”
Dr. Scott Wegner from Genesis said, “We are really excited
to be more deeply involved in Coshocton County. None of this would be possible
without the support of the community. We are very excited to be part of the
community and bring things here you haven’t seen before.”
Amy Crown, director of the Coshocton County Chamber of
Commerce, personally knows how valuable specialists like Dr. Wegner are.
“I’m here because of Dr. Wegner,” she said. “He was my
oncologist, and I’m now a 10-year cancer survivor. We are excited to have these
specialists here and for people to not have to drive an hour or two. To be
able to get these services provided here is outstanding for our community. Thank you,
Genesis, for doing this.”
