River View defeated Carrollton 1-0 in the opening round of the OHSAA Division IV East District Girls Soccer Tournament.

Paisley Miller scored the lone goal of the match on a first-half penalty kick after Chloee Adams was fouled in the box. The Lady Bears’ defense held strong the rest of the way to preserve the shutout victory.

The win also marked a major milestone for River View head coach Dave Kridler, who earned his 300th career victory.

With the win River View advances to face top-seeded Beaver Local, who rolled past Edison 10-0.
