Letter to the Editor
Village resident urges stronger Christmas decorating effort
Letter urges Carrollton to expand holiday lighting displays and revive its former ‘Christmas Village’ spirit
We are approaching the two best holidays of the year, and all of us should say thank you to the ladies of Carrollton for the excellent decoration of Carrollton they have done. However, the village should take lessons from the ladies and do a better job of decorating for Christmas.
We only have a few Christmas lights on a bit of Canton Road down to the square, and even fewer lights on North Lisbon Street. We have none on East Main Street and none on South Lisbon Street. Years ago, we decorated the town and bought ads on TV, advertising it as the Christmas Village. We can do much better with a little bit of the oil lease money the village used.
