Roxy Theatre to host comedian Heywood Banks live
Banks intersperses his humorous observations of life with inventive, bizarre songs
Krackpots Comedy Club will present the family-friendly comedy of Heywood Banks at the Minerva Roxy Theatre Saturday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m.
Banks intersperses his humorous observations of life with inventive, bizarre songs, sung and played in a variety of styles, from folk to country to rock to pop and beyond. He has been featured in Rolling Stone and People and has appeared on A&E’s “Evening at the Improv,” MTV’s “1/2 Hour Comedy Hour,” CNN’s “Hollywood Minute,” “Caroline’s Comedy Hour,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “Showtime Comedy Club Network,” “Dr. Demento Show,” “12th Annual HBO Young Comedians Special with Paul Rodriguez,” and is a frequent guest on the national Bob and Tom radio show.
Tickets for Banks are $20 and can be purchased on krackpotscomedy.com and, unless the show is sold out, at the door. This production is not sponsored by the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce. For more information, contact Krackpots Comedy Club at 330-809-0360.
The village’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area is in effect from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Patrons may purchase beverages in official DORA cups from the Normandy Inn, Stoney Inn, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant and Sandy Springs Brewing Company and carry them throughout the designated area, including into the Roxy.
The Roxy Theatre is located at 120 N. Market St. in Minerva’s historic downtown and is wheelchair accessible.
