Roxy Theatre Players bring classic comedy Harvey to Minerva Oct. 3–5
Beloved play about a man and his 6½-foot imaginary rabbit to feature local cast at weekend performances
Minerva’s Roxy Theatre Players will present “Harvey” Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3 and 4, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.
In this classic play, Elwood P. Dowd insists on including his friend Harvey in all of his sister Veta’s social gatherings. The trouble is, Harvey is an imaginary 6½-foot-tall rabbit. To avoid future embarrassment for her family—and especially her daughter, Myrtle Mae—Veta decides to have Elwood committed to a sanitarium. At the sanitarium, a frantic Veta explains to the staff that her years of living with Elwood’s hallucination have caused her to see Harvey as well, and the doctors mistakenly commit her instead of her mild-mannered brother.
The Roxy production stars Louie Pilati, Hannah Thomas, Roger Bartley, Loni Porter, Rachel Galarneau, Rachel Vaughan, Theresa Linder, Luke Stuller, Mandi McNeely, Debi Siers, Valerie Carl and Rich Berta, and is directed by Porter and Thomas.
Tickets are $12 presale and $15 at the door and can be purchased at the Minerva Chamber office or online at minervachamber.ticketspice.com/harvey.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Saturday and 1:15 p.m. Sunday. All seating is general admission. For more information, contact the Minerva Chamber at 330-868-7979 or denise.freeland@minervachamber.org.
