Holiday film to begin production, casting extras in Minerva

A family-friendly romantic comedy titled "ACDT" will soon begin production in the area, highlighting the small-town holiday charm and seasonal spirit the community has to offer.
The screenplay was written by local cartoonist Duane Abel and is co-produced by his wife, Coral Abel, an area business leader. The film is executive produced by Carrollton native Katie Atwood-Batson under Timeless Realm Productions. Organizers say the project will be a family effort both in front of and behind the cameras.
Casting is now open for background actors for the Christmas-themed movie, which will be filmed in Minerva during the winter. Production is scheduled for multiple days between Jan. 7 and 18 and is seeking a wide range of local residents to help bring the holiday story to life.
